'THE PASSION OF CHRIST'

'Passion' prompts confession from neo-Nazi

Former neo-Nazi Johnny Olsen confessed that he was behind the two unsolved bomb attacks against Blitz in Oslo in 1994 and 1995 after seeing 'The Passion of Christ.'

Olsen spilled the beans when he met with journalists from Dagbladet Saturday. He later contacted his lawyer and turned himself in at the police station at downtown Oslo.

Olsen gave the surprising confession after seeing Mel Gibson’s movie about the last hours of Jesus’ life. The film allegedly had such a great effect on him that he wanted to admit his sins.

«Jesus lives,» proclaimed Olsen, age 41, when he appeared at Oslo county court Monday charged for the two bomb attacks against Blitz, an autonomous counterculture center in downtown Oslo.

Olsen will be held on remand for two weeks, but the police did not obtain all the restrictions against him that they hoped for.

«This is incredible,» said Fridtjof Feydt, Olsen’s lawyer to TV 2 Nettavisen after the remand hearing. «He turned himself in and has given the police a detailed explanation in connection with the two bombings, and then the police want to isolate him. Olsen has a great need to explain this in public.»

Olsen admitted that he was surprised by his client’s confession.

«It came out of nowhere,» Feydt said to the Norwegian radio channel Kanal 24. «Wonders happen in Norway too.»

Wants peace
«It is important that two of the worst attacks are solved,» Olsen said to Dagbladet. «This is my way of creating more peace in the world. I’m tired of the fighting and I want peace with myself and others.»

Olsen stated to Dagbladet that he knows details connected to the attacks that the police have not uncovered. Olsen also revealed the locations of hidden weapon storages in Vestfold to the paper’s journalists Saturday. The police will investigate the statement.

«We have been in contact with Vestforld police district which are going to investigate his statements,» stated Sindre Flaate, police officer at Oslo police district, to Kanal 24.

Olsen was at the age of 18 convicted to 18 years in jail for the murder of two men on a deserted forest road at Hadeland.
