The car owner was supposed to drive the 9-year-old to school on Sotra, but
since he did not have a license, he put the child behind the wheel.
When the 9-year-old drove into the schoolyard Monday of last week, the boy
stopped in front of the door, and left for class. Shocked parents took down
the license plate and contacted the police. The case is now under
investigation.
“I guess you could say that this is a strange case,” Tom Paulsen, the police
officer who is investigating the case, said to Bergensavisen.
In the car with the 9-year-old was a 27-year-old man. He is a friend of the
boy’s parents, and he allegedly took on the responsibility of driving the
boy to school.
According to the police, the two of them changed places at a mall, and the
boy drove the car to school. This has allegedly happened before.
“Thankfully nothing has happened. According to the 27-year-old, the boy is a
good driver,” Thomas Sørensen, on duty officer, said to Bergensavisen.
The last piece of the story is of course that the 27-year-old who owns the
car dose not have a driver’s license either.
