NORWEGIAN RADIO SHOW:

Radio star set fire to dead pig

Publisert 7/4/2003 kl 10:47
On Wednesday, radio comedian Kristopher Schau used a dead pig as a boat and on Thursday; he set fire to the pig as part of his entertainment show at the Norwegian Quart Festival.

Kristopher Schau has been massively criticised by animal rights activists after attaching an engine to a dead pig and using it as a boat during an entertainment show on Wednesday.

Animal rights activists in Kristiansand were furious about the entertainment:

«I feel angry but maybe most of all sad. I think it is terribly sad watching people being entertained by such a thing», said Ragnar Ommundsen.

Kristopher Schau said: «The strong reactions are fully understandable. I once dropped a pork chop in the sink and it made me furious».

The entertainers are not too bothered about the fact that the animal right activists have sent a formal complaint to their employer, NRK.

Set fire to pig
At a new show on Thursday, Schau soaked the pig in petrol before setting fire to it while making a flaming speech against sausages, saying «We are talking about squeezing pig's tissue into the pig's own guts, then cooking it and giving it to children», Schau said.

The entertainers had originally planned to serve the barbequed meat to the audience.

«But then we got a list from the local medical centre with all the diseases one could get by eating this meat, so we decided against it», said Schau.

The grand final
On Thursday the rest of the show consisted of putting a white BMW at sea, voting on the festival's nicest penis and the annual enema competition.

«The show on Friday will be gigantic and it will be better than anything we have done before», said Schau.
